Steven R. Rothbloom
President and CEO, Computershare US
Steve Rothbloom is President and CEO of Computershare’s US business and is a member of Computershare’s global Senior Executive Management group.
Steve is responsible for growing Computershare’s US business lines, including transfer agency and corporate action services, corporate and mutual funds proxy services, employee equity plan administration services and software, communication services and solutions, bankruptcy and class action settlement administration, and others.
Steve has spearheaded more than 25 acquisitions as part of Computershare’s growth strategy in the US, including EquiServe, Georgeson Shareholder Services, Transcentive and Alamo Direct Mail Services, and the employee stock purchase plan division of Merrill Lynch.
Prior to his appointment as president and CEO of the US, Steve was president of Computershare Investor Services North America with direct responsibility for the registry and stock transfer business across Computershare’s US and Canada offices as well as employee plan, analytics and document services businesses.
Steve was part of the Executive Team that led the Harris Bank acquisition in 2000. He joined Harris in 1986 and after a series of senior appointments, became Executive Vice President in 1998.
Steve has more than 30 years of experience in the securities industry. He is a member of the Corporate Transfer Association, the Society of Corporate Secretaries and Governance Professionals, and the Securities Transfer Association, and was a past member of the executive committee and the board. He holds a BA from Queens College, New York, and an MBA in Financial Management (with distinction) from Pace University in New York.
Steve also serves on the advisory board of directors for the Infant Welfare Society of Chicago.
Paul Conn
President, Computershare Global Capital Markets
Paul Conn has more than 30 years experience in financial markets worldwide and is currently based in Computershare's New York office and a member of Computershare’s US executive team. He is actively involved in the development of strategic initiatives across the range of Computershare's business.
Prior to joining Computershare Paul spent over 18 years working for both the London Stock Exchange (LSE) and the Australian Stock Exchange (ASX) in a number of senior positions. These ranged from operations (trading and settlement), business development (new products, services and systems), legal and regulation, to business policy and strategy.
As the president of the Global Capital Markets Group, Paul is a member of Computershare’s global senior executive team, and oversees the product strategy development and services such as global registry, cross-border trading and settlement services within the Computershare group.
Sharon Sritong
Chief Financial Officer, Computershare US
Sharon Sritong is Chief Financial Officer of Computershare USA, with responsibility for the Finance, Human Resources and Legal groups across the region.
Before joining Computershare, Sharon worked for Arthur Andersen and in a variety of industries with a focus on accounting, strategy, and tax. Sharon holds a Bachelor of Business (Accounting) degree. She is a qualified chartered accountant and is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia.
Sharon joined Computershare in Australia in 1999 as Corporate Compliance Manager and was primarily responsible for global tax strategy and integrating the Goods and Services Tax system into the Computershare businesses in Australia.
Over the 10 years Sharon has been with Computershare in the US, she has been part of the executive team overseeing acquisitions and overall strategy.
Juli Bark
Executive Vice President , Marketing and Strategic Development, Computershare US
Juli Bark is Executive Vice President, Marketing and Strategic Development for Computershare North America. A member of the North America leadership team, she is responsible for driving brand strategy and implementation, as well as marketing and corporate communications activity across nine business service groups.
Prior to joining Computershare in 2002, Juli held strategic marketing, sales and product development positions at large corporate organizations such as Baxter and KPMG as well as positions at entrepreneurial companies in the real estate, medical and restaurant industries.
Juli has more than 22 years of experience in helping companies drive growth through business development, marketing strategy and communications. She holds an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management, Northwestern University, and a BA in Economics from the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana.
Bryan Butvick
Executive Vice President, Computershare US
Bryan Butvick is Executive Vice President of Computershare’s M&A Strategy group and is a member of Computershare’s US Executive Team. He is responsible for growing Computershare’s US business lines through strategic acquisitions and partnerships.
Bryan joined Shareholder Communications in 1994, which was eventually acquired by Georgeson and then by Computershare. Bryan held a series of sales and business leadership positions, specializing in shareholder communication programs. Many of the efforts that Bryan oversaw included cross-border work, a new area, at the time, in the shareholder programs space.
Since leading Computershare’s M&A Strategy group in 2007, Bryan has spearheaded several significant acquisitions to support Computershare’s growth strategy in the US. Most recently, Bryan led the acquisition team for Kurtzman Carson Consultants (KCC), Rosenthal & Company, and several registry businesses. Bryan also sits on the executive committees for Computershare’s bankruptcy, class action and corporate proxy businesses.
Bryan has more than 15 years of experience in the securities industry. He is a member of the Securities Transfer Association, the National Investor Relations Institute, the Society of Corporate Secretaries and Governance Professionals, and the Shareholders Services Association. He earned a bachelor’s degree in International Relations from the University of Delaware.
Bryan is proud to serve on the board of Kids Enjoy Exercise Now (KEEN), a national, nonprofit volunteer-led organization that provides one-to-one recreational opportunities for children and young adults with developmental and physical disabilities at no cost to their families and caregivers.
David Drake
President, Georgeson Inc.
David Drake is President of Georgeson, a pre-eminent proxy solicitation firm. David supervises a staff of seasoned professionals, many with more than 20 years of industry and other professional experience. He also works directly with clients to help them obtain favorable shareholder vote results on friendly mergers and acquisitions, unsolicited takeovers, proxy contests, restructurings, shareholder proposals, compensation plans and other corporate governance matters.
Prior to joining Georgeson in 1997, David served as Vice President and Director of U.S. Research and Senior Analyst for Institutional Shareholder Services (or ISS; now renamed as RiskMetrics). There he led a team of research analysts producing proxy research reports for institutional clients, advising them on corporate transactions, proxy contests and other shareholder issues.
David is a frequent speaker and writer on proxy fights, investor activism, corporate governance and compensation issues. His recent articles include “Seeking Shareholder Approval of Option Plans Under the New NYSE/NASDAQ Listing Standards” and “Are You Ready for the Ratings Game: The Corporate Governance Ratings Game.”
In addition, David is a member of the Society of Corporate Secretaries & Governance Professionals, the Council of Institutional Investors, the National Investor Relations Institute and the National Association of Stock Plan Professionals.
David earned a B.A. in Political Science from George Washington University and an M.B.A. in Finance from The American University in Washington, DC.
Nancy Greer
Executive Vice President, North America Human Resources
Nancy Greer is Executive Vice President of Human Resources for Computershare, North America. She has responsibility for human resources for Computershare’s business lines that are located throughout the United States and Canada.
Previously, Nancy was Vice President of Human Resources, Merrill Corporation, Investment Company Services. She joined Merrill Corporation in 1998 as a Senior Regional Human Resources Manager, and became Vice President of Human Resources, Investment Company Services in 1999. She has over 20 years of experience in Human Resources, of which 13 years were within the hospitality industry with Marriott Hotels and Resorts, Renaissance International Hotels, Hawaiian Waikiki Beach Hotel and Hyatt Hotels Corporation.
Nancy serves on the Education Advocacy Committee for the Society of Human Resource Professionals. Additionally, she is a member of the Society of Human Resources Management Association, Illinois Employer’s Counsel, and is a certified facilitator for Achieve Global, a leading provider of performance improvement consulting and training services. Nancy is very active with the Project Literacy US program.
Her educational credentials include a BA from University of South Florida, Tampa.
Mark Hartzell
Executive Vice President, Sales and Marketing
Mark Hartzell is Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Computershare and Georgeson in the United States. As a member of the US executive management team, he is charged with bringing Computershare’s premiere services and the most appropriate solutions to a wide and diverse group of clients.
Mark came to Computershare in 2010 from JP Morgan, where he was head of the global sales and client management organization for the clearance and collateral management division. During his tenure, Mark was responsible for setting sales and client strategy as well as overseeing the execution on that strategy. To help JP Morgan meet its goals, Mark established consistent metrics, pipeline management, talent management, training and forecasting tools. Prior to JP Morgan, Mark was with both Citibank and US Bancorp as a senior business and sales leader.
Mark earned a bachelor’s degree in government and economics from Beloit College and has completed Rogen Sales Leadership and Six Sigma training. Mark sits on the Board of Directors of the New Jersey Institute of Technology’s College of Science and Liberal Arts.
Eric S. Kurtzman
CEO and Co-Founder, KCC
Eric Kurtzman brings a wealth of experience and expertise in corporate bankruptcy law to his leadership role at KCC based on his former career as a corporate restructuring attorney.
He co-founded KCC, a leading claims and noticing agent acquired by Computershare in 2009, to provide a higher standard of administrative-support services and technology solutions to companies undergoing corporate restructuring. In doing so, he fulfilled a previously unmet need within the restructuring industry for professional-level client service and innovative technology to manage the administrative challenges of corporate restructuring.
As CEO, Eric oversees internal operations of the company, including the design and development of the company's proprietary, web-based technology and the management of the company's offices in Los Angeles, New York and Memphis, Tenn. He also spearheads the consulting group, ensuring a high level of client service during each engagement. Through these endeavors, KCC receives national recognition for its innovative business model and industry leadership. In recognition of his efforts, Eric was selected as 2008 Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year® in the Services category in the Greater Los Angeles Area.
Before co-founding KCC, Eric was a bankruptcy attorney at Pachulski, Stang, Ziehl, Young & Jones P.C. in its Los Angeles office, representing Chapter 11 debtors, such as Breed Technologies, Sabratek Corporation and Sunbelt Nursery Group, Inc. Previously, he served as an attorney in the Los Angeles office of bankruptcy boutique Murphy, Weir & Butler P.C.
Based on his extensive knowledge of bankruptcy law, Eric is a contributing author of “First-Day Motions Manual: A Practical Guide to the Critical First Days of A Bankruptcy Case,” a reference that provides background on the various motions filed on the first day of a bankruptcy case.
Eric earned his Juris Doctor from the UCLA School of Law and his Master of Business Administration degree from the UCLA Anderson School of Management. He graduated as departmental valedictorian from the University of California, Berkeley with Bachelor of Arts degrees in Economics and Japanese Politics.
Outside of his role at KCC, Eric is an active member of Vistage, a member organization of Chief Executives that work together to accelerate business and personal growth.
Jay McHale
President, Equity Services
Jay McHale is President of Equity Services, the largest of Computershare’s businesses in the United States. As a member of the US leadership management team, he is charged with building upon Computershare’s excellence in the transfer agent and equity compensation industry. To date, he has introduced a number of innovative service offerings amid a challenging regulatory and financial environment and continues to position the business as the premier service provider in the marketplace.
Throughout his 30 years of experience in the financial services industry, Jay has presided over numerous complex business integration projects including significant acquisitions, divestitures and reorganizations. Prior to joining Computershare in August 2007, Jay was the Chief Operations Officer for Harris Investment Management, a $17 billion multi-strategy investment management firm, where, in addition to ongoing operations, he was responsible for portfolio accounting, trade processing and systems. Jay’s roles also included direct management of the shareholder services and trust divisions at Bank of Montreal/Harris.
Jay earned a BS in Finance from DePaul University and an MBA in Finance from the University of Chicago. He serves on the board of Action for Healthy Kids, a national not-for-profit and volunteer network fighting childhood obesity and undernourishment, as well as on the advisory board of directors for the Infant Welfare Society of Chicago.
Michael J. Nelson
CEO, Computershare Fund Services
Michael Nelson founded Alamo Direct (Computershare Fund Services’ predecessor) in 1988. In 1996 he created the Proxy SmartCard™ process and in 1993 he introduced the householding methodology to Mutual Funds industry for compliance and proxy mailings which is the industry standard today.
Prior to founding Alamo Direct, Michael worked for seven years at Smith Barney as a manager of the reorganization, mutual funds and dividend departments and for over five years as Alliance Capital’s Vice President of the transfer agent and operations areas. He had day-to-day responsibilities for the call center, data processing, money control, correspondence, quality control, proxy outsourcing, fulfillment outsourcing, dividend calculations and corporate actions.
He also directed the internalization of the transfer agent operations from BFDS into the Alliance family and, in doing, so implemented/documented over 250 procedures for 125 staff members. He was the architect of a proprietary reconciliation system for all cash book activity and balancing. Before leaving Alliance, Michael directed the newly formed Fund Serv and networking projects. He has more than 35 years of experience in the financial services industry.
Bernie O’Connor
President, Computershare Communication Services, US
As President of Computershare Communication Services, Bernie O’ Connor is responsible for print and mail operations in the United States.
Bernie began his career at what was then Chase Manhattan Bank and spent eight years in the security check printing business. From 1991 to 2004, Bernie was with DST Output, a leading provider of communication solutions to brokerage, banking, mutual fund, insurance and health care firms. He was instrumental in driving the company from its $10 million early stage operation to a $500 million market leadership position, while advancing to Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing.
Bernie holds a BA in Business Administration from St. Bonaventure University.
Joe Spadaford
Executive Vice President, Operations, Computershare Investor Services
Joe has 35 years experience in the financial services industry, primarily running large operating departments and businesses.
He joined Computershare in July 2007 from AXA Equitable where he led several strategic process improvement initiatives and became the firm’s first Certified Master Black Belt in Six Sigma. Prior to joining AXA, Joe was President of First Chicago Trust where he led the shareholder servicing group for many years, building it into a service leader among large transfer agents. Joe was also instrumental in the integration of First Chicago with Boston EquiServe to form EquiServe.
Additionally, Joe was Senior Vice President of commercial loan operations at First Chicago—where he drove transformational changes in service delivery. He was previously a senior manager at Citibank, leading Eurocurrency and Citicorp Funding operations.
Joe is a CPA and has broad expertise in risk management and operational controls. He holds a BS in Accounting from the University of Dayton and an MBA from Adelphi University in Banking and Financial Markets. He is also a licensed Securities Principal and Registered Representative (Series 24 and 7).
