New projects for our share plan clients

It’s been a busy time for Computershare Plan Managers with a number of clients refreshing and relaunching their share plans. We’ve also seen a stream of clients wishing to increase their usage of online services in order to reduce costs and improve service experience to participants, regardless of global location. Employee take up of these services continues to rise, with plan administrators introducing more and more online services and functionality. This is driving many companies to seek a single provider for all share plan offerings so that employees get a consistent experience, and can do everything they need to via a single web portal.

Rio Tinto modernises executive share plans

We’ve helped Rio Tinto overhaul and modernise its global Executive Share Plans, which are offered to over 1400 of its most senior staff worldwide. After an extensive tender process, Computershare was chosen to partner with Rio Tinto on this project designed to deliver an online service to this key group of employees. The project builds on a strong existing relationship in which Computershare acts as Rio Tinto’s global registrar.

All under one roof for Wincanton

Wincanton plc, the leading European supply chain solutions provider, has chosen Computershare to consolidate its registry, plans and trustee services. Wincanton previously used multiple suppliers for these services and the move to Computershare, as sole supplier, has optimised the use of new technologies in share plan delivery whilst bringing significant efficiencies and minimising risk.

Shell’s new global plan

Computershare has helped Shell relaunch its successful Global Employee Share Purchase Plan in line with the company’s ‘simplify and standardise’ approach. Changes to the plan – which was rolled out to 40,000 people in over 50 countries – included electronic enrolment for employees in all countries. 99.9% of participants enrolled using this facility and overall plan participation has increased by 34% to 12,300 participating employees.

BAE extends share plan Down Under

In a brand new partnership, BAE Systems plc, has worked with Computershare to extend its free share plan to 5500 staff in Australia.

"BAE Systems is the premier global defence, security and aerospace company with a growing employee base across the world. We have chosen Computershare as a partner who can help us deliver a high quality share plan service to our Australian employees."
