This year’s Annual Dinner of the ICSA Registrars’ Group was attended by over 400 guests on 13th November, who gathered to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the ICSA Registrars’ Group. This high profile occasion was marked with a speech from special guest Martyn Lewis, one of Britain's best known TV anchormen and reporters, and took place at The Brewery in London.

| Computershare hosts a stand at the ICSA Conference |
On 2nd October, Computershare hosted a stand at the ICSA Conference and Exhibition, the event of the year for Company Secretaries from across the UK.
We hosted a break out session on working with proxy advisors, taken jointly by Georgeson and Computershare Governance Services. The session included advice on corporate governance policies, how to engage with proxy advisors and winning shareholder approval.
Attendees from Computershare’s registry team were also there to speak to delegates, and the Capital Analytics survey results were displayed, demonstrating our continued successes in 2008.

| Georgeson speaks at Benelux M&A and Private Equity Forum |
At the mergermarket Benelux M&A and Private Equity Forum in Amsterdam on 21st October, Oliver Linde, Director of Shareholder Communications at Georgeson, joined a panel of industry M&A experts to discuss the Benelux region. Alongside representatives from The Royal Bank of Scotland, Citigate and KPMG among others, Oliver led lively discussion on the role of the media and shareholder communications during a transaction. The event was the ideal opportunity to network with other leading industry experts, and to keep up to date with the current climate and future M&A outlook for the region. |

| Computershare Industry Update Event |

On 25th September, Computershare hosted its second Industry Update Event of 2008 at our offices, offering the invaluable opportunity to update our clients about changes in legislation and developments within the industry. Topics covered included the Shareholder Rights Directive, an AGM 2008 Review (voting levels and eComms) and an update on the Euroclear harmonisation.
Our knowledgeable guest speaker David Styles, Assistant Director of Corporate Law and Governance Directorate at BERR, spoke on the Shareholder Rights Directive and was very well received by all attendees. |

| Governance Services User Conference mixes business with pleasure in Amsterdam |

This year’s Governance Services User Conference in Amsterdam was a great success, with its traditional blend of guest speakers, networking opportunities and entertainments. Attendees were given updates and guidance on the use of their Entity Management software, including talks on searching and reporting, capital structures and building minutes, resolutions and contracts. Guest speakers were Melanie Norton from Aviva plc and Susanne Schweiger from Linde AG, and all attendees enjoyed a highly entertaining night out at Amsterdam’s American/Dutch comedy theatre, Boom Chicago.
